Our goal is simple: provide a clean, comfortable, and private place veterans are proud to call home. Located in Needles, California, Havenstead offers an independent living environment where residents can enjoy privacy while remaining connected to their existing support systems through the Department of Veterans Affairs and other community resources.
Housing is the platform. Stability is the outcome.
What Is HUD-VASH
The HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program helps eligible veterans obtain permanent housing through rental assistance provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), combined with case management and supportive services coordinated through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Havenstead Communities proudly welcomes veterans participating in HUD-VASH and works with VA case managers, Public Housing Authorities, and referral partners throughout the leasing process.
While Havenstead provides the housing, HUD-VASH eligibility, voucher administration, case management, and supportive services remain the responsibility of the Department of Veterans Affairs and participating housing authorities.
Built on Service. Committed to Veterans.
Billet Health is proud to be a veteran-owned organization.
Service, integrity, accountability, and compassion are values that guide everything we do.
Through Havenstead Communities, we are honored to provide veterans with quality housing designed to support independence, stability, and dignity.
Why Permanent Housing Matters
A stable place to live provides the foundation for everything that follows. Permanent housing gives veterans the security and consistency needed to establish a daily routine while maintaining their independence, privacy, and dignity.
Having a place to call home also allows veterans to safely store personal belongings, receive important mail and benefits, and stay connected with healthcare providers and other support services. This stability can make it easier to attend appointments consistently and manage ongoing health or personal needs.
By reducing the daily stress and uncertainty of housing instability, permanent housing allows veterans to focus their energy on employment, family relationships, personal goals, and building a more secure future. Every veteran deserves the peace of mind that comes with having a safe and dependable place to call home.
Independent Living with Optional Transition Support
Havenstead Communities provides independent rental housing for veterans who are able to manage their own daily living needs. Each studio is designed to offer residents the privacy, stability, and independence that come with having a place to call home.
Havenstead is not an assisted living community, skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, hospital, or residential healthcare program. Residents are responsible for managing their own personal needs or arranging any ongoing support through their healthcare providers, the Department of Veterans Affairs, family members, or other community resources.
To help new residents settle into their homes, Havenstead offers an optional complimentary one-hour wellness visit each week during the transition period. This service may include light housekeeping or assistance with bathing and is intended to make the move-in process easier and more comfortable. Participation is completely voluntary.
Outside of this optional transition support, Havenstead does not provide ongoing nursing or medical care, medication management, personal caregiving, meal preparation, transportation, case management, counseling, daily supervision, or assisted living services.
HUD-VASH case management, supportive services, and healthcare coordination remain the responsibility of the Department of Veterans Affairs or the veteran’s assigned VA case manager.
